Lost Angel
She was cast half in shadows
how could they understand
wearing a tarnished halo
only my eyes could see
I know she was something special
her wings fell away
it matter not what others would say
truth was with me
I watched her from the window
I was the savior
every night she came
she spoke to me
her make-up to hide the pain
silence the tears
once she might have been beautiful
take it all away
no more would another harm her
one last breath
I would she her mercy
wash it all clean
just feather touch against her skin
there would be no scream
and she would fall
no more suffering
she would thank me
lost soul set free
if only she knew

Inspiring
I really loved the "tarnished halo" detail and how you
alternated using italic text for emphasis. I feel it added
to the over all mood...at least for me.
It reminds me (and this is just me) of a couple of
my favorite songs from Jack Off Jill...from their
Clear Hearts, Grey Flowers album. I suppose that's
just my round about way of saying..this poem rocks!
Thanks for the inspiration!
