Wild Roses

Posted in Thoughts
I saw the most beautiful thing this evening, it is funny sometimes, how somethings so simple, can become so striking and awe inpsring and reach down within us to touch our souls. I was on my way home from class, and well I do not currently drive so I was in the passangers seat, and we were pasued at a stop sign, and I looked over, and there was a wild rose bush growing on the the side of the road beside this cannal I think. And hagning upon one of the vines that was facing the road, was a single dark read rose. I was transfixed by that image, and felt touched by something, it was the first time I have ever truly seen a wild rose bush, though it was not growing out in the middle of the wildnerss, it was not in someones yard, planted and tirmed and pruned, kept in control and order, it was growing free of its own will in all of natures harmoneous chaos, its vines tangled around the varrious other foliage that grew there. It left an inrpint upon my soul, I always held a certain facination for the rose, not just becasue of its simple beauty, but becasue of something deeper, becasue of the many things it can represent.

G'day Silverwind,

Wow! You are so right about roses especially wild ones. I have this little verse written by a Vietnamese poet, he wrote it... In the midst of the madness and violence of the Vietnam War. He the poet had found peace in the divine reality and natural beauty of a wild rose...Before he died.

This is what he wrote...

Standing quietly by the fence,
You smile your wonderous smile.
I am speechless and my senses,
Are filled by the sounds of your beautiful song,
Beginningless and endless.
I bow to you deeply.

So you have been touched by the same beautiful feelings.
Love and ((((hugs)))) from Dawnie. x
