ReunionFor perhaps the first time in his life, Nicoli actually acquired the look of a deer caught in the headlights. He stood frozen at first as Sashas words sunk into him and realization would start to seep into his brain. He wanted nothing more then to denounce this reality, of course he would not put it past Sasha to try something like this, but still he felt his heart stop for a fraction once her words left her lips and pierced his ears. Quickly he began the process of patting himself down, silently praying he would feel the phone right there in place where he had put it, and then he would get her for this, but there was nothing. Nothing but empty space. Sasha savored the moment, even though she knew that the two of them sat together in the same pot, just waiting for the match to be lit, it was almost worth it to see his self-assured pedestal knocked out from under him and have him brought back down to level with everyone else, to realize he wasnt better then the lot of them. "What did he say to you?" He broke into her thoughts and had to struggle not to smile. He was in a sour enough mood and even she knew better not to push him too far. "He was fishing, I do not think he knows anything, anything real, but he suspects and is trying to sniff it out like a blood hound. He called to say how concerned he was, and offered to help in anyway." "He must to be on to us someway, when he called me in to meet with him he was giving me the same kind of line. This only proves that I am right, this was all a mistake, if we ditch Fenton now, it will be like none of this happened, we can save our skins and just walk away from it." Sasha was not willing to just cut and run, not after everything she had already been through, and she was not going to admit defeat now already. She had plans and she needed Nicoli. "We knew from the beginning this was not going to be easy, are you so willing to just bow your head and take what comes to you, never realizing your full potential? Are you going to let him do that to you? That is why he came to you, because he knew you would fold before him. Maybe you really do not have what it takes, maybe that is why he was chosen over you, because you arent worthy." Sasha felt the sudden pain seize over her, like a fright train and had just plowed into her and she was sent flying back across the room until her back hit the wall where she was pinned in place as if a large heavy weight was pressed against her body, her feet dangling just off the ground she could not move, she felt as if she could barely breath her breath restricted with every inhale. She had gone too far, but it needed to be said. She hit a nerve and that she knew she could use. Her eyes fixed upon Nicoli. He stood still just in the threshold of the door, lightning danced in his eyes, his left arm extended out in front of him, with his palm facing her and fingers spread out. A dark shadow had fallen over his face; he almost looked like a different person. "This is what he wants? Look at us" Sashas words came in chocking struggles as her breath became more and more restrictive. "It is the old adage, Divide and Conquer. We never use to be like this. Do we really want to let Luca control us like this?" Nicoli slowly dropped his hand to his side, releasing the power as the electric fire went out of his eyes. Sasha's body dropped to the floor and for a moment she sat against the wall in a heap her legs curled bad as she gasped to catch her breath. Her body keeled over, one of her hands pressed firmly against the floor to help support her up. The pressure now completely left and the ache pulsed through her body. "Then what do you we do?" Nicolis voice caused her to raise her head slowly, it was unusually soft. Dark locks of hair hung within her face, it took every fiber in her body not to retaliate against him but that would only set them back to where they started, they needed to work together now, not tear each other apart. Why do all the work for Luca? At least they could make it hard for him. "I have an idea." 4:19 PM - 5/5/2007 - post comment
