Opus Dai

This is just amusing, on the History Channel right now there is this thing all about the Opus Dai, talking about the "truth" about the Opus Dai in response to the ever popular Da Vinci Code portryal of the Opus Dai, and I know that book was a work of ficition and no doubt some of the things it said were sensationalized or bent, or just plane made up both for the sake of making a good book and perhaps in accorudance to some of the peronal bais of the writer, but at the same time on this show that is on the History Channel right now, it is just basicaly only inteviweing people that are in the Opus Dai, so do they think I am really going to beleive everything they say? That would be just as bad as beleiving everything that the book said. For one thing, I do not know of any group that is willing to speak perfectly and completely honestly about themselves and will air thier dirty laundry, particuarly not when they are trying to make themselves look good, and on the other hand lets face it the Catholic Chruch, and Christiany and Chatholisim in general has not exzactly made a great reputiion for itself for being honest. In fact they use to be one of the most corrupt orginizations there was, hardly better then politics and pollitatiions, and I have no reason to beleive that has completely all gone away now.

You cannot disprove one kind of propganda by countering it with yet another type of propaganda for one thing it just looks bad on your behalf, and for another thing the fact that you are making this big spectalce on TV about how "warm and fuzzy" you really are or how wholseome you really are, just makes it look like you really do have something to hide under that. And to get so worked up about what a work of fiction has said about you, well to me that just seems like that a nerve was struck and now they are scrmabling to try to do damage control.

Oh yeah, I hate that. Usually Christians who counter any attempt to disprove them by simply pointing at the written word and saying that that just proves everything. A few comics have come up with this solution to silence them: write down "God does not exist". If a Christian then tries to come up with that sort of evidence, you tell him that God doesn't exist, for it is written. After that you show them your little piece of paper. You won't change their view on things, but at least it shuts them up, unless you're dealing with a madman.

I use to say shit like that all the time, I would always joke around that when I am aruging with Christains I should just have like random crap written down, and just be like, well that must be true becasue it has been written. But then I think that is also why they get mad about stuff like that, they do not understand the concept of fiction so they think if it is written in a book, well then it must be true, so they get all offedned by it.
