The Secret Lives of Insects
" I do declare" spoke the Grasshopper
a curl of smoke winding around his head
"that is most preposterous"
The Weevil could not help but to take this
in heavy contemplation,
"then what" he would punctuate
"do you propose?"
Taking his pipe once more into his mandibles
Grasshopper pondered the question
"quite clearly we are but the sum of
our molecules, and cells in reaction
to one another."
Weevil was displeased while her drank his chardonnay
"then you suggest all life to be meaningless
what purpose is a mechanism made only of bio reaction?"
With a studious shake of his head Grasshopper countered
"life is as meaningless less or meaningful as we wish it,
let us be our own gods and live for ourselves."
Weevil scoffed feeling dejected
"must you be such a cynic,
where lies your sense of mystery,
it is most illogical to propose we are simply for the sake of being
and we come from nothing to go to nothing"
Grasshopper gave a resigned sigh
"the soul and afterlife is only to deceive us
in our own minds, created to give us a false sense of importance"
Weevil would give this due consideration,
but before he might even dare to make his case
none other then Earthworm would interject.
"I dear say old boy, there are things in this world
beyond our own rational explanation."
