Please!

I am so irritated right now I just need to rant off. Though I know I should not care or let it bother me, it is just so annoying. There is this forum where I post my work at, and there is another member who is like also one of the mods or admins or something like that, and we have very different tastes, which is fine. But to my knowledge I have not really said anything bad about any of his work and certiantly have not personaly insulted him and yet he seems to be out to get me, and bares this grudge against me simply becasue he does not like the what I write, or the way I write. His so called critique of my work is not even very useful, or helpful, but more in the vien of this is dark so I don't like it, though those are not the exzact words, but the basic tone, and I get already that he dose not like what I write, and he knows by now my taste so he dose not have to keep reading if he dosen't want to. And it is to the point now where he has to restate how much he dose not like the way I write in every comment he leaves in my work and now he even critizies the way I comment upon other peoples work. It is like he thinks just to appease him I should write something other then dark, nevermind the fact that all his poetry is pretty much written in the exzaact same style. And his latest now, is that he is all annoyed simply becasue I will not rewrite this poem I wrote, because I like it just the way it is, but becasue it is not conventional, or does not descirbe winter properly, I should rewrite to appesase him.

Sierosuly if anyone knows of any good poetry forums please please send me your links and suggustions, becasue I am about ready to leave this place, but as of now other then my blog and DA I do not have a good alterntive for posting my work.

Well hon all I can tell you is to not let it bother you. There are always going to be a-holes out there. We unfortunately have to deal with them. I suggest you search the web for some poetry forums or maybe even create your own. Good luck!

Critics...seriously

Now that I have too much extra time, I was
browsing your blog looking for my favorite
serial goth fiction story (I can't find it,
hope you didn't take it down), and I happened
upon your comment.

Critics.
I read more literary criticism than is
healthy for anyone to take in. And what
I can say about my study of professional
critics...good ones are about the message,
not about picking apart the phrasings. I
don't know a single master of phrasing,
and that's because it's a relative study.
Yeah, Shakespeare is super, but even he
felt like he needed to change things. Point
I'm trying to make, when someone says they
don't like how you write, or what you're
writing about...it's all about how
they feel you should write for them.

Critics have it bad. As they evaluate
a subject, they are either appraising
it as a cultural item, or damning it
for not scratching their nut sacks just
the way they want them scratched. In
both cases, they are serving a cultural
anxiety: either the object is not
recognized and respected and thus they
feel it's their job to get that object
some respect, or...they feel they have
to protect society from something they
deem...unworthy. Either way, it's an
anxious judgment call.

Just my two cents.
Feel sorry for them:)

Now, where is that serial fiction!

I like Terri's idea. DarthTsynn has a point as well, but if someone doesn't like your work there's no reason for that person to keep reading and critiquing. There's only so much a person can ignore. Someone has got to stop him.
