Home AgainWell folks I am back, I would like to give specical thanks to Dawnie and Duthboy for thier well wishing, and for any whom might be intrested I thought I would say a little about my trip. I did have a good time, but in someways it is nice to be back, it is good to get back to my writing again, particuarly the impulse kind of writing I do on my blog. And I have lots of new poetry I wrote while I was away that I will be posting here, as I have already put up a couple of my new poems.
First thing I have to talk about was the awsome concert I went to. Aaron Luis the lead singer from Stained, whom I love, has this speicial solo tour that he does only once a year, and it just so happend that he was going to be in Navada for it this year, at the same time I was going to be in Tahoe, and Navada bumps right up against Lake Tahoe for those whom do not know. So it was going to be like right next door just about to where we were staying, as we were close to the state line, so I just had to go, and he was great. I love his voice, and it was really aswesome becasue it was just him signing with his guitar, nothing fancy and well it is also nice to see a modern day music artist that has some real genuine talent.
It was really neat becasue in addition to signing some of the old faveorites from his Stained albums he also did some other stuff that has not been preduced anywhere, and he did this one song that was originally intended to be on Chapter 5 but never made it, that I thought was really good. I might have to get his solo album he said he was going to put out. And then the very last song he did was It's Been Awhile, which was awsome, becasue I love that song, it is like my song, and so I flipped out when he sang that song, and it was amazing hearing it song live and in person.
But he was also a great personality, in addition to his signing, he was just a really funny guy, and the way he interacted with the audiecne was hillarious, becasue they would all be shouting out stuff to him, or like songs and shit they wanted him to do, so he would mess with them, and it was funny becasue he also played around with signing a few songs that are not from his own music, like some old school stuff. And he did this cool little bluesy song with a friend of his.
So that was really cool.
Oh, and I have to tell you about Chole. She is my new doll, and she is just the most adorable creepy little thing. I fell in love the moment I saw her. I do not know how many of you are famillar with what are called Living Dead Dolls, but they are gortesquly adorabe. And well because I have this Edgar Allen Poe doll, I call Chole his girlfriend.
Here is my little Chole
The other thing I really wanted to mention, was that every year in Tahoe when we go there is this Shakephere festival going on, and they always show two different plays, and this time around it was Romeo and Juilet or Taming of the Shrew, and becasue Romeo and Juilet has been done to death, and I wanted to see something new so I choose the Taming of the Shrew, and I knew a little about it but not the details. So I went to see it and it was just a god awful play. Watching it made me mad at Shakespere, and what I really did not get is how the audidence through the show were hotting and hollering and cheereing it on, it is just near umberable to watch. Basicaly it is about this man who marries this woman becasue she has a handsome dowery but she is very strong willed and opinonated, so he decides he is going to train her like a dog to make her obedianet to her master, and essentialy begins to torture her untill she breaks down, and then at the end she gives this speach to the other wives, about how the bodies of women are soft and weak and for the sake of love and harmony a woman ought to obey whatever her lord says and always be ready to serve him. Needless to say, it made me wish I had seen Romeo and Juilet instead.
On a side note unrelated, to those whom might be intrested, for I know had followed and gave thier support, I have now found a new place to post my poetry, but of course I will continue to post it here as always, but I have found a new forum that seems to have a good atmosphere. I have a link to it under my link sections, called The Pen is Mighty. 10:48 AM - 8/13/2007 - post comment
