Caged
Alone within my head
yet trapped within the maze
trying to find something to hold
on to.
So the night passes
and I taste it on my tongue
glimpses of freedom
only to be tied down.
Feeling raw I try and
escape myself but
the chains hold me tight.
Never can find the key
however much I try
so I live within this cage
and only glimpse the light.
