Name that tune

Ok who wants to try and help me guess the lryics of a song based on extrmely vauge lyrics? There is this song I have heard a couple of times, and it is a somewhat older song, but I never caught what it was called or who it was by but i kind of like the song, and for some reason the only thing that sticks out in my mind is there is this one line in the song that says.

"There was a genie in a bottle"

and it was a woman signing the song, I know that much.

When I try to google it all I get is this stupid Christina Augilaira song called Genie in a Bottle which I know is not the one I want.

So if that rings any bells to anyone by any chance, or even if you just have a wild guess, any help would be appraicted on this.

Yikes

I'm great at older..way older...songs and lyrics. It can't be "Message in a Bottle", by the Police...I have to admit I had help from my husband in identifying the group.

I know that is not much to work with, maybe I will just have to wait untill in someway I come acorss the song again or perhaps can get myself to remeber more, but keep the guesees comming in the mean time everyone

I think I know what you mean, but the title and artist elude me right now. If no one else tells you beforehand, I'll get back to you as soon as I remember. I have been called a walking music encyclopedia a couple of times, but I'm not as fast with returning answers as Encarta, or Wikipedia,...

That would be awsome if you did know. I know I am horrible at comming up with very vauge lyrcis and then trying to track a song dong from it.
