Jousting

For anyone whom is a fan of any sport, reguardless of what that sport is, has probaly felt my pain, but there is nothing worse then when you are trying to watch a sport that you follow when you happen to be sitting next to someone, who does not understand the game at all, and so they are sitting there talking sounding like complete idiots.

There are not many sports that I am really into, and well the few sports I do like tend to be rather unconvintional not the sort of thing that you can sit down and watch on tv but none the less as unusual as they may be, there are still some sports that I enjoy, and one such sport is Jousting, yes, I love jousting. And I do not mean Ren Faire/Midevial Times, play acting, where everything is staged and just a show put on purely for the sake of entertinament, like a sort of reinactment.

I mean genuine, real, hard-hitting, Tournmanet Chapanimnship jousting. In which "knights" come from all over the world to compete. I follow jousting, and I know the rules of the game, I know how score is kept, the termonlogy used, and I even know the players, I follow the knights from varrious different torunments, and have those that I really like and those that I do not care for that much.

Though of course most people today view Jousting as just pure entertainment, though to a degree all sports are for entertainment anyway, but people do not in genreal take jousting sierously the way football fans tend to take foot ball and so forth. But I am a jousting enthusisit and I do take my jousting seriously in addition to being entertained by it.

So there are these Celtic Faires that I go to and these faires always host the Jousting tournments, and the way they are set up is there are two tournments, and the first tournment is usually at noon, and the secound is held later in the afternoon. So the first tournment was some really good had-hitting jousting, a couple of unhorsings, and some really good lance breaks. It was some really good jousting.

So then I go back later for the secound tournement, and end up having this one woman sitting just below me, with these other two beside me, and anothedr right behind him, that all did not know what the hell they were talking about. So I am having to listen to all these idiots all around me, talking about what they did not even know the hell what they were talking about, and it was just painfully annoying. And the people right beside me they did not even know what jousting was, and so the girl below me who hardly knew anythign was trying to explain to them.

It was just grating.
