The Invisible Stain
How easy it is to turn
a blind eye to the
pain and suffering we
cannot see,
If you don't stare
it in the eyes, then
it must not exist,
How convenient all you
Hollywood stars, and
pop-rockers, wannabe
rappers,
Claim that you care,
get involved in politics
ware the badge of humanitarian,
all you Afro-Americans,
take pride in your heritage
when it suits you,
But you strut around in
your big big diamonds
flashing to bling and blang,
think you look so cool,
What did it cost you,
a couple of thou, you
won't miss among the millions,
but what is the price of a
human soul, a life, a child's
hand, arm, leg, a poor family
trying to stay together,
You don't see the bloodstains,
how the diamonds bleed and
scream silently for what
forced sacrifice on the innocence
went into putting them in your rings,
on your chains,
A poor nation harnessed
under tyrant rule, squeezed
dry to its last drop so you
can show off like your some
big shot.
