Critics, gotta love umWhat is about criticts which make them seem to think thier word is God? That is the problem I find I have whenever I am trying to find a good forum to post my work, is dealing with the insecurities of the critictis, I do not mind my work being critiqued and I welcoem to hear the thoughts of others, but that does not mean I have to agree with all of it. I have found more and more that I think critiics have far more insecurity issues and bigger egos then the artists have. They seem to have this beleif that, becasue they critique something, all that they say should be accepted hands down without debate, or disagreement, which is even more lagughable considering on forum boards it is not as if any of them are like to be profressional ciritics, they are just people with an opinon whom think if they put that opinion in the form of a critique it should be untoucable.
The way I see it, when I post a poem there are times when a person might point something out or mention something that from a readers point of view, without having my bais as the writer I would not have at first noticed, or thought of, and I will take a look and say, oh yes I can see your point about that, and maybe it would be better if I did this or changed that, but then there are cases when a critic might make a remark in which I feel really would not aid or help the poem, or would take away from what I was trying to do with the poem, or if I just do not agree with thier vision and take upon it.
And what is really amusing it is usually always the critics that prociliam to be so honest, and open, and that really like to dish it out, that cannot withstand anyone to nae sae them. In fact one such critic acutally said to me:
Agree or not a critique should be considered
There is acutally a forum board called The Blueline which has a policy where it is forbidden for a writer to debate, disagree, argue, or otherwise respond to the critique of a critic, in fact they say, that it is freedom of speach for the critic to say what they think, and yet where is the freedom of speach of the writers?
