I just saw the moive There Will Be Blood it was a very artsty film and it was also quite interesting, though I must admit at the end it did have a touch of the feel of pointlessness to it I do think that it hinted at some imporant messages and themes within the film. In some ways for anyone whom might rememeber it reminded me of the James Dean movie Giant.
It was one of those movies, that the previews lead you to belive one thing but then when you see the movie, it is totally different then you had first exepcted it to be. One of the things that I really loved about the movie, was the music. The background music within the movie, I think acutally played an imporant part, it was made a part of the film itself in an artistic way that is not often done. The music was all modern classical, composed music with an orchestra much and in someways reminded me of Vaugner.
Much in the way silent films were once made with orchstra music playing, and in fact it does seem as if there was very little dialouge throughout the film. The other thing I really liked, as at the end of the moive, the cridits were done in a way in which they looked like they were from a program, or a play.
I also could not help but to notice, that there was virtually no swearing throughout the entire moive. Which is unsually for movies today so I could not help but to take notice of that.
