Rape of the Moon
Her soft paleness could only quake
eyes always staring never quite awake
made miniscule before the suns menacing sight
hot fires cause her to ache
The night-eater burns in delight
with carnivorous smile showing his might
too paralyzed she cannot flee
forced too look into the deadlight
Lips trembling in her silent plea
soul inside mourning for what cannot be
his laughter carries like dry thunder
rendered blind, her only mercy is she cannot see
Fire-fingers tear the sacred asunder
tongue of noxious gas does plunder
and for all that is lost she weeps
until beneath the sea he seems to slip under
