Cul-du-Sacs
I once heard Ellen Degeneres say that cul-du-sac is French for 'you can play ball in the street without getting hit by a car'. I meant that the people put the actual basketball hoop thing itself on the sidewalk.
You study vocabulary so much. Do you ever find that you know a word but you can't pronounce it because you read it often but have never head it spoken. I hate when that happens.
