Faith of the Fallen
In faith I took those steps
blindly in the darkness
with only the sound
resounding in an echo
down these cryptic halls,
but in you I had believed
and the hope you gave to me,
all I could do was walk
unknowingly to my doom.
Shattered was the truth
as I was left lost within the cold
it was your voice that beckoned me
as I placed one foot before the other
full of reverence only for you
When upon the chamber door I came
it was too my surprise and soon to be horror,
as I rapped my knuckles against the wood
and watched them bleed,
That there came no answer,
only the silence that stopped my heart beat,
could it be, truly this
that I was left alone
out within the cold
and after everything
I have done
all for you
How I followed
and oh so vainly
in faith I was led
to my end.
