I went to see The Forbidden Kingdom today and I thought it was quite the amusing and entertaining movie, as well it did have some great fighting scenes within it. I really quite liked it for the most part. There were a few things though that I was slightly disappointed in.
The movie was one part fantasy; one part comedy; one part kung fu; and one part fairy tale.
I know that might seem like an odd mix, but I think they really combined all these elements together quite well to weave a charming tale.
The main complaints I would have with the movie, is that there were a few things that I felt were a bit underdeveloped within the story, that I thought could have been explored just a little more. In particular one of the characters I found most interesting I do not think was even given a name in the story. She was a witch bounty hunter, and it just felt there was a lot more to her, and just who she was than the movie really portrayed. I would have liked a bit more character development on her, because they suggest things about her, but than do not fill you in on the details.
