HIS Love

HIS Love

You speak falsely of
God's love
when I look into you eyes
when I look into the past
and flip through the pages
that have passed many hands
I do not find it.

I quest it and always fall short
you try and convince
but I find your arguments are fading
and failing when I see all that has been done
in HIS name.

His own son he sacrificed
for our sins it was told
but who would be so easy
to cast aside their own flesh and blood
and for what?

His forgiveness is only skin deep
those that follow on their knees
he will grant the keys of the kingdom.

He cajoled with Satan who he forsook
for speaking out against the tyranny
in order to prove his own egoism
by the suffering of Job, the poor soul
made a game, toyed with upon a string.

And what of Abraham?
Made to believe he would have to shed
the blood of his one and only son
to appease.

They may claim that in the end angels had
saved him, but what a cruel joke
simply to prove ones own greatness.

Where is the love in condemnation
of those who have a free mind
and live as they please.

I do not find love in a dictatorship
that preaches there is only one way
one truth, I see no love that would damn to hell
the gentle spirit of Buddha for seeking a new path
a new truth, one that does not judge.

I see now love in one who would deny the rights
of all other gods, so that he may rein supreme
and dare not to share the spotlight.

Dogma and forced belief
at the threat of eternal punishment
is not a kind of love of which I am familiar
it is the love of those who when made flesh and bone
are sent into dungeons, or the hangman's rope.

It is a love that wars are waged to overcome
it is the Love of Hitler, and Sadam
it is the love of mad men.

But you still would preach to me
of his Goodness, I find your words
a falseness and a lie.
