Their own worst enemyIt seems to me that I am constantly hearing Christians boo-hooing over the fact they their religion is criticized so much, and that so many people have Anti-Christian views. Christians are always whining because they think they are being picked on, and of course they think the reason why there is such strong Anti-Christian sentiment is because the rest of us are just evil, and sinful and bad, and it is because of homosexuality and atheism, and the world itself is just gone to hell in a hand basket.
But they fail to realize the reason why so many people do not like Christianity is not because of the religion itself, but because of Christians. This might sound a bit contradictory, but I have always said, that I truly do not have a problem with Christianity as a religion in itself, what I do have a problem with is the way Christians choose to practice their religion. Truly I think that if Christians were more like Hindus and Buddhist just off doing their own thing and only worrying about themselves, and leaving the rest of the world alone to figure itself out, than people really would not care, and people would not have a problem with Christianity. But when you go strutting around clucking about how you are right and everyone else is wrong, and anyone who does not agree with you is in league with the Devil, and those that do not follow God are ignorant sinners who do not know any better. And when you act as if you do know what is better for everyone else. Well than of course you are going to piss people off, so don't be surprised when there is a backlash against you. I believe that people do not truly have a problem with Christianity, what they have a problem with are Christians, and the two can be separate things. And the are totally oblivious to the fact that if they would learn to just butt out of the lives of everyone else and just worry about their own lives, people might start to like them a little better. But if you go around telling everyone else what to do, you are not going to be in the popular group. Plain and simple Christians are just the bullies of the world, and like most bullies, when people turn around and start picking on them, well they cannot take it, and they want to run home and cry about how horrible everyone else is.
