This is my response to Vladimir Mayakovsky's "An Extraoridnary Adeventure which Befell Vladimir Mayakovsky in a Summer Cottage" and Frank O'Hara's "A True Account of Talking to the Sun at Fire Island"
In both poems the poets account thier conversations with the sun.
Uninvited Visitor What do you want? Hear you! How could I not? Ignore you I would if only I could but you are so demanding commanding my attention Can't you see what you have bares no interest to me? Others have heard your call and obliged happily but alas not me You are rapping at my door but don't you know there is another I obey Your Shadow Twin she who rises to bring the night We converse freely but you're not welcome you never understood our mysteries So blunt and brutal expectant and gruntal Please! Please! Go away! I have not asked you to stay I am one you won't call away You will have to find another to smother to burn away at in infernal gratitude of your acknowledgement But you paid too much heed to me, so it seems I can always feel your eyes blazing on my back your fingers like death-rays Put it away! You ghastly brute I will not write this ode to you.
