Soulful Eyes
I caught a glimpse
of sad, wise eyes
watching
and I wonder
what has been witnessed
in the passage of time
through half-closed windows
Can I deny
somewhere there in lies
a waiting soul
without words
spoken to me
in a moment
lingering longer
than the seconds
I took to notice
