StingI am a big fan of Sting, which seems a bit odd because it does not seem to fit into a lot of the other music I listen to and enjoy, but then I have a wide and varried taste when it comes to msuic. There are a few reasons why I enjoy Sting so much, for one he is a very spritual person and that spirituality comes out in a lot of his music, some of his songs have a sort of old world feel to them, but the thing that I find most intresting perhaps is that most people really know him for his love type songs which are very soothing and romantic, but there is this other side to him that comes out in some of his music that I do not know if a lot of people really pick up on. But he has this sort of dark twisted side almost it seems. Some of his songs actually have this almost creepy sensation to them. For one thing has Every Breath You Take which is undoubtly a stalker song, Moon Over Burbon Street hints at this sort of darkness but I really recomand checking out Don't Stand So Close to Me. That song can really make you cringe. And it is amusing to me when you stumble acorss a song like that from such a singer like Sting who is usually very spritual and romantic. And well I can relate to that, I have the same trends in my poetry.8:57 AM - 6/24/2006 - comments {0} - post commentMy Lifes SoundtrackThis is something I thought I would do just for fun, it is something I did for one of the playlists on my ipod. If my life had a soundtrack like in the movies, these are the songs that would be on it. These songs are those that best speak to me and relate to my personality, as well as my experiences both things from my past and present.

It is true that rock orginaly was something more, it was a lifestyle, it was a way to rebel, it was a culture all its own, and was about so much more then just the music. But about sending out a message it was about being on the edge, now today the rock and roll subculture still exsists, but I think in this world of Pop Culture, where people who cannot even sing but are choosen for a look and put on tv was signing stars, made to sound good by computer technology, where they do not even wrtie thier own music, but are told what to sing by producers, or sing the songs of other artists, and where they certaintly do not play thier own instruements as they sing. Rock and Roll is now more then ever about music. It is some of the last real music left, where there is still an art to it. Still soul in it. Where they have real talent, and write thier own songs, and play thier own instruments. I hear people alot talking about how there is no good music anymore today, and I think that they are just looking in the wrong place. 11:45 AM - 2/27/2006 - comments {0} - post commentAC/DC BlowsThis rant is dedicated to how much I cannot stand AC/DC. As far as I am concered they sound like nails on a chalk bored and I almost cringe in phyical pain whenever I hear them. I really do not understand how they can be so popular and how so many people can like them or even bare to listen to them. And let me tell you I am a total rock and roll girl. I love rock and roll from every genereation, but they are unbearable as far as I am concered. I would like to buy an AC/DC t-shirt and then paint a big red circle around it with a slash through the middle. The reason I felt the need to rant on about this, is simply becasue I am irritated with how much one of my faveorite rock stations play thier music. I listen to the sation just about everyday on my way to class, and it seems like every time I have to hear at least one of their songs. 6:28 PM - 2/16/2006 - comments {1} - post comment
