I continue to be disturbed by my sleeping pattern. Even with the timezone and jet lag, I have awoken at 6AM promptly each day. Right now I am sitting in the Boat Shed common room typing away. Nary a soul about. I did see two folks walking outside, probably to the 6:30am ferry. While its still quite chilly, the sun is out and the skies relatively clear. It should be good day to be out and about. Today, I am going on a “guided” tour that secretly focuses on the wineries and breweries here on the island. More about that when I return.
Today I took a tour of the island paying special attention to vineyards. Wine isn't all they produce though. I found fresh pressed olive and avocado oil. They also let me taste some incredible local honey. I took my tour with a couple from Denmark and 4 people from Lithuania. When I got back to the Boat Shed, we had some new arrivals that included a Canadian and a couple from Belgium (one French and the other Italian). So you can see that that quite a diverse universe of people are coming to NZ.
