EU May Allow US To Keep Snooping On European Bank Data
7/28/2009

"US anti-terror advisors want to be able to pick up examining Europeans' numbers* transactions, and it appears likely that the indo-european language Union is going to comply. ... The US has been examining transactions handled by the Society for cosmopolitan Interbank commercial Transactions (SWIFT) since the 9/11 attacks... With data privacy laws far stricter in Europe, the US would then need agreement from the EU before it could gain access to this impressionable information."
