From a distance things can be big, but up close it can become very personal. Like the way people make observations. We like to think big in terms of vision, but when it becomes personal it is something to close of a matter and reason to deal with. Generally no one will ever meet someone who is exactly like themselves. So how is it we don’t know who we are? We can spend a whole lifetime far from the truth. The thing about the truth is it not only sets you free, but opens your eyes to see through the eyes of God. I spoke with someone close to me who feels there are no other options for him in life. And to take a new path, setting, or thought process is impossible. This is a man who is currently locked up and a repeat offender. No matter how much I told him different and encouraging him to be positive, there was no changing his mind and outlook. One thing interesting was that he could afford in his mind to have the same lifestyle that was keeping him from climbing higher or in a sense true being. He could afford to have a drug attachment, lustful desire, and a slothful character. This being no different than someone wanting to change from a mindset that instead of pushing them forward it pushes them back. So people want to change how much money they have but never their character. I have found that money from a world vision can be big, but the more you have the more personal it becomes, especially if you never change. How can we afford to gain control if there is no control over our lives? We think that things characterized by necessitous strongholds or bonds in terms of outward street living by means of money and lifestyle that anyone can afford being broke is the way. No, I think it is being able to have self control, and those who have never had it, including myself, have to teach ourselves control or we will never have any kind of control or true peace. Peace not in this world of conflict, but in our inner world of conflict. Politics of wealth, superiority, and the longing for satisfaction in terms of the media will always have your mind in a cage, seeing everything around you, being fed what you’re given, and never getting out. Probably one of the reasons why when our perceived views in our lives hits home and becomes personal to our lives we wonder why we never got the big picture. You have to come close to see it and meet it for yourself.
