Al-Emran 9-10
9- OUR LORD, YOU ARE GATHERING MANKIND FOR A DAY, NO DOUBT ABOUT IT, FOR ALLAH NEVER FAILS TO FULFILL HIS PROMISES.
10- THOSE WHO DISBELIEVED, NEITHER THEIR WEALTH NOR THEIR CHILDREN WILL SAVE THEM FROM ALLAH. THEY ARE THE FUEL OF THE FIRE.
Allah the Highest is reminding us of the Day of Resurrection and Judgment. Allah the Highest told us and warned us about that day, and He always fulfills His promises. Believing in that Day is a very important part of our Faith, for it is then that we will see the outcome of our lives and of our deeds. Allah the Highest said about the Day of Resurrection: “THE DAY WHEN EVERY SOUL WILL FIND WHAT GOOD IT HAS DONE BROUGHT BEFORE IT, AND WHAT EVIL IT HAS DONE, IT WILL WISH IT IS A GREAT DISTANCE FROM” (S:3 A:30)
On that day, the disbelievers will have no help from any one or any thing. Allah the Highest said: “AND GUARD YOURSELVES FROM A DAY WHEN NO SOUL SHALL AVAIL ANOTHER, NOR WILL INTERCESSION BE ACCEPTED FROM THEM, NOR SHALL THEY BE HELPED” (S: 2 A: 48)
The Muslims will qualify for the intercession of Allah’s messenger, prayer and peace upon him. Allah’s messenger, prayer and peace upon him, said: “Every prophet is granted a Dawaa, and I kept mine Allah willing to be an intercession for my nation on the Day of Resurrection” (M:Eman;334-337 & B:Tawheed;31 & T:Dawat;130 & Ma:Zohd;37 & Da:Reqaq;85 & A:1:282 & Mal:Quran;26)
However, a person has to believe in Allah the Highest and His messenger, prayer and peace upon him, to qualify for this intercession. The great sinners may benefit more from this intercession. Allah’s messenger, prayer and peace upon him, said: “My intercession is for those with great sins of my nation”. (T: Qeyamah; 11 & Ma: Zohd; 37 & A: 3; 213) Naturally if the big sinners qualify; the small sinners would qualify too.
One should remember that what people owe others due to any theft, injustice, insults etc., is an account that has to be settled between people first. Allah’s messenger, prayer and peace upon him, said: “Do you know who the moneyless person is?” They said: “The moneyless of us is he who has no silver or belongings”. He said: “The Moneyless of my nation is he who comes on the Day of Resurrection, having prayed and fasted and given Zakah, yet he swore at this and insulted that, taking this person’s money unjustly, shed another person’s blood and hit another. Each one will be given from his good deeds, and when his good deeds run our before he pays what he owes them, their sins will be taken off them and loaded on him, and he will then be thrown into the fire” (M:Ber;59 & T:Qeyamah;2 & A:2;303,334,372)
The disbelievers however will have ‘no leg to stand on’ at that time, no one will be able to help them. The wealth, power, children or men who were the elements of their strength in this life will be of no use then, and they will have no power. The picture drawn is that of people being themselves the fuel of the fire, what keeps it burning, is not wood or petrol but people.
