Al-Emran 42-43
42- AND THE ANGELS SAID: “O MARY, ALLAH HAS CHOSEN YOU, PURIFIED YOU, AND CHOSEN YOU ABOVE ALL WOMEN OF MANKIND.
43- “O MARIAM, HUMBLE YOURSELF TO YOUR LORD, PROSTRATE, AND BOW WITH THOSE WHO BOW.
Allah the Highest chooses people for special jobs. Allah the Highest chose Mariam (Mary) for the job of conceiving a child without having the sperm of a man, and then carrying him to birth.
Allah the Highest prepares those He has chosen for a job, for the job they have been chosen for. Preparing Mariam was by raising her as a righteous girl and woman, and purifying her, that is keeping all evil away from her. Her womb was to be the cradle for a miracle for mankind, the creation of Jesus, peace upon him.
The task requires submission and surrender to Allah’s will, therefore Allah the Highest wanted her to humble herself, prostrate and bow to him. Worship strengthens our soul and our resolve, which is needed for difficult tasks, and what she was going to go through, was difficult. This is why she was chosen above all women of mankind.
Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him said: “Fatimah is the foremost of the women of Paradise, next only to Mariam the daughter of Emran”. (A: 3; 80)
Allah’s messenger, prayer and peace upon him, also said: “The best of the women of mankind are, Mariam the daughter of Emran, Khadeja the daughter of Khowayled, Fatimah the daughter of Mohamed, and Asiah the wife of pharaoh”. (A: 3; 135)
The Christians say that Jesus, peace upon him, is the son of God as he did not have a human father, but through Gabriel blowing into her from the spirit of God. Adam, peace upon him, did not have a father or a mother and was blown into from the spirit of Allah too. No one claimed that Adam was son of God.
