11/30/2011 - Intuit deliver small business finance workshops
Posted in Unspecified

Accountancy software firm Intuit is helping 1,000 small businesses better manage their finances through a new government-supported training workshops scheme.

The Financial Fitness workshops have been inspired by research from the Office of National Statistics that shows one in three businesses do not make it past their third birthday.

The makers of Intuit QuickBooks 2012 accounting software, will launch the initiative at the Business Startup Show in London on November 17 and 18, a key event during this year’s Global Entrepreneurship Week.

Pernille Bruun-Jensen, UK managing director of Intuit, said: "Too many businesses run out of cash, manage it badly or just don’t have the time or the skills to help themselves out. Improve this and we can radically help improve the chances of business survival rates."

The events will support the new Finance Fitness campaign launched by business secretary Vince Cable last week and will cover the basics of good record keeping, how to track and improve cash flow, as well as save time on everyday tasks such as invoicing, expenses and calculating and reporting VAT.

Intuit offers accounting and payroll software and services to help UK small businesses.
