Just as I have done only a few months ago, many moms on the market ( including yourself!) could possibly be wondering what things to feed your child: homemade food or food pouches/jars? - reusable food pouch
I haven't got a great answer on the other hand really have a reply that produces sense in my opinion here's why...
I began using an ambition to skip packaged baby food all together and become the trooper mom who feeds her child fresh, pureed vegetables and fruits. Even as we dived deeper into the weeks of solids, I noticed how unrealistic this goal is, for me. We started buying organic pouches mostly by Plum, Sprout and Ella's. I, naturally, loved nevertheless love how convenient they're. Unscrew the cap, squeeze and serve, awesome!
I probably looked at the constituents coming from all those pouches (which i bought) as well as tell the truth you'll find nothing scary combined with them. They actually do contain the foods which they state they contain with the exception of if they state "beans" and incredibly there may be bean flour included or rice and when again they've got added rice flour for the mix. Before you invest in a packaged food with the food featured onto it including quinoa or chicken. The pouch will voice it out contains them and sure it lets you do but they're somewhere on the ingredient list. Top for the ingredient list is generally a fruit or maybe a vegetable that's cheap to obtain/produce and often not very nutrient dense. This is definitely the downfall of packaged foods.
The other problem is the flavors. The food from your pouches and jars may taste okay but the tastes aren't real. The food tastes like adult canned food which is expected but...
Ask yourself the next questions: Is this what you need your baby to taste on a regular basis? Can someone really say your infant likes yams when she had only tried the pouch kind? You are the judge. Cook some yams and mash them up and do a comparison using the packaged yam, massive difference.

I often glance at the combinations they may have and then make my own. As an example, I frequently make broccoli with apples or kale with apples and carrots. My home made combinations taste much better than the pouch foods. Yams, for instance, taste contrasting as opposed to pouched yams. So once more, shall we be really introducing our babies to real tastes by giving them mostly pre-made foods? I believe if I only used packaged food I would somehow be cheating my daughter because foods don't taste like whole, fresh produce. This isn't to say never utilize them! I learned to develop a balance and I be sure my baby eats a minumum of one homemade meal per day. I spend 1 day a week making baby food (about 3 hours) so i make extra that i then freeze. I use the frozen meals within 1-2 weeks. In addition, i stick enough within the fridge to last 3 days. I exploit pouches when on the move or when baby goes to spend the morning at grandma's. It truly does work!
So to conclude, I feel that pouches really should be used as a support and real food may come first. That's my very own opinion as well as the "dietitian in me" opinion. I think it's very important to introduce real food starting from inception. It tastes different, it tastes better, it's more whole and nutritious. They have none or minimal processing. - reusable food pouch
