Rookie Error
This morning I had been working on my training for my IT course. I had stayed at home to try to get some work done on my training because I have been falling behind, and I was having way too many distractions when I tried to work at the office.Well I'd been going at it for about an hour and a half, writing up my notes in notepad because all I needed was something really easy to write HTML in.
Have you ever had Notepad crash on you? I never have until this morning. And my rookie error? I had not saved my work up till that point...
Needless to say I was a little frustrated and disapointed at that moment. I took a walk, punched the pantry and got back to doing all that work again, saving every five minutes this time.
Scary thing about it though is that even though I lost half of my work for the morning I still got more done this morning on my training then I have in the last 3-weeks or so of trying to work at the office. I'll be working at home again on my training Friday morning, saving my work every five minutes...

troutdude on Thursday, October 20, 2005I once had a similar situation with about three+ hours of work on a sermon series. Sometimes I think God lets us make those kind of mistakes to improve the end product! I know I had a better sermon after losing it completely than I would have had otherwise. But it still pays to Ctrl S regularly!
