The Many Uses of Gmail

I've only recently started to use my free Gmail e-mail account.  Right now I am using all of 7Mb of the 2.5GB of storage available in that account (The old laptop that is sitting next to me right now only has a 3GB hard drive!).

With 2.5GB of storage available you can imagine that there is a lot that you can do with it.  I read an article today that describes some of them, and although I have not tried them myself, it sure sounds like it will open up all sorts of possibilities for it.

I use my gmail account as a backup for times when our server goes flaky. But the ideas from that link show me just how versatile it could be as a stand-alone program. One use I have made of it: back-up. I send documents, such as term-papers, to gmail, then archive them where they will be readily accessible anywhere I can get on the Internet.
