Google Toolbar Update

Posted on 10/21/2005 in Information Technology

A while ago I added Google Toolbar to my Firefox installation.  Since Firefox already includes a search bar, tied in with Google, the main reason that I loaded the toolbar was for spell checking purposes.  At the time I was unsure how well it work as it didn't pick up some of my deliberate spelling mistakes.

As I said I would do when I first loaded it, here is an update about how I have found it to work.

So far I have actually found it to be quite useful.  The spell checking feature is pretty decent, although I still don't like the fact that I can not choose which version (or dialect) of English I can use.  Also with all the sites that I am working on it's also nice to see what their current page rank is, especially after Google has done a page rank update.

So overall it was a worthwhile tool to add to Firefox.
