Firefox is my Primary Browser

Posted on Friday, November 4, 2005 in Web Development

At the moment my primary browser is Firefox.  It's great because of the ability to open different web-sites in seperate tabs instead of seperate windows, and the plugins for it are pretty useful as well.  It is also supposed to be more secure than Internet Explorer.  If you haven't tried it yet, I would recommend it.

My only real problem with Firefox is that it doesn't work well with Microsoft Sharepoint.  We use Sharepoint at our office because it is free with Windows 2003 Server, it was relatively easy to set-up and it uses Microsoft Active Directory for it's security authentication.  All of those things had been set-up by the previous network administrator, so it only made sense to continue to build off of it.

There are a few other random sites out there that also don't work with Firefox, but they are thankfully getting few and far between.

I am right now using Firefox version 1.0.7, but according to this article, Geek News Central: Firefox 1.5 RC1, version 1.5 should be coming out soon.
