YWAM Nigeria - Urgent Call to Prayer
A team of Mother and Child Health workers have been involved in a tragic road accident outside Port Harcourt, Nigeria.Ten girls of 14 left in the morning of Sunday, 11 December from Port Harcourt to attend Sunday service with other local YWAMers. Eight YWAMers were killed, six were with YWAM Nigeria and two were from YWAM Perth.
There were seven others injured from YWAM Perth - four are still in a serious condition.
Currently, two of the seriously injured are in hospital in South Africa. Four others are in hospital in Ghana and two of them are seriously injured. One other that has been injured is currently being cared for in Nigeria; the remaining team members in Nigeria are doing well at this time under the circumstances. We have flown leaders to each situation, Nigeria, Ghana, and South Africa to monitor care for the girls as well ensuring their emotional wellbeing and transport home. Family members have flown to each location.
Could you please pray - we have an urgent need.
- Prayer for the family members of the deceased.
- Pray for the injured.
- Pray for arrangements necessary to ensure the best possible care for the injured and those who are deceased.
- Please pray for YWAM Nigeria and YWAM Perth.
- Please pray for all of the girls as they come to terms with the shock and trauma of the accident. They will be dealing with the death of two close friends and thus there is also a need for grief and trauma counselling.
