Stable on the Strand - Townsville's Christmas Festival
I've been reading with great interest some of the talk about the "War on Christmas" that people have been talking about on some blogs that I subscribe to.Here in Townsville it seems like quite the opposite has been happening. The Townsville City Council has been working with the Combined Churches of Townsville to put on the Stable on the Strand each year in the week leading up to Christmas. This year it goes from the 19th of December to the 24th of December down at Strand Park, which is a large park located down on the beach here in Townsville.
The event involves multiple live stages, a large Air Conditioned tent with a live nativity, youth events and over 500 volunteers to pull it off. Reef to Outback has been involved with it for the last few years along with the Combined Churches and it has been awesome to see it grow.
