Firefox and Internet Explorer Formatting

Posted on Tuesday, January 3, 2006 in Web Development
When I redesigned the template for this web site I had such a hard time getting it to work well with both Internet Explorer and Firefox.  I actually also tested it in Opera and Flock, but I majored on Internet Explorer and Firefox.

In the end I was never able to get them to look the same so I went with the best that I could do.  If you look at the site you can see that the alignment of the first article is different from Firefox to Internet Explorer.  Check out below for screenshots showing the difference:

So the Internet Explorer one lines up great, but Firefox and the other browsers don't.  It's a pain that I have not yet found a work around for.

Unfortunately this site is still all tables.  I tried to change it to CSS, but my programing skills weren't up to the challenge.  I might have another crack at it down the track, and that might help my formating problems, but until then I just have to suck it up I guess...
