Amazing Curling Shot
When I was younger I used to do curling. My parents still play and it's quite a bit of fun. Where else can you throw big rocks down the ice and have two people clean the ice in front of the rock with brooms.This is a very cool video that I heard about on a podcast that I subscribe to (I can't remember for sure which one, but I think it was TWIT). I had to watch the video a few times to really see what happened with the shot, but it's a pretty amazing shot by Team Canada to set-up a 6-point end. Check it out:
In a totally random moment one of the people that we talked to about raising our house actually had some really old (early 1900) curling stones here in Townsville! It was her dad's and she has hauled them around with her for years, not that you would ever find a curling rink here in Australia. She was using them as a door stop.
