YWAM Tech Support Approachability
Here at YWAM - Reef to Outback it has been a struggle at times to keep up with the volume of support that is required. At times I have been quite distant and jaded towards helping people. It's gotten to the point where at times people would rather live with the problem then have to talk to me about it.
Obviously this is not a good position to be in for tech support, or for me as an individual. It is definately not displaying a Christ-like servant attitude.
Rachel Cunliffe over at the cre6 design blog had a very challenging post for those of us working in YWAM IT, or any tech support in general. The gist of her post is that those of us working in tech or web support need to be easier to approach and more accessible.
This is something that we have been trying to cultivate on the YWAM Information Technology site. Some of the comments on some posts have actually gotten a bit too heated at times with certain topics (especially a Mac vs PC post that is up there). Sometimes we need to pull our head in a bit, get over it and remember why we are doing what we are doing, and that is to Expand God's Kindom.
