YWAM Discipleship Training School - DTS Lens on Squidoo

Posted on Monday, April 3, 2006 in Web Development
I had previously read about Squidoo from Darren Rose on ProBlogger and I thought that it sounded like an interesting product to make money from advertising revenue, but I had never thought about using it myself for what we offer here at YWAM - Reef to Outback.

A little while ago though I read another post by Seth Godin entitled Why Wouldn't They where he talked about using Squidoo as a tool communicate about the service or product that you have to offer.

With that in mind I went ahead and set-up a Squidoo page which you can check out here:
This is an ad revenue sharing blog.

YWAM DTS - Discipleship Training School

At the moment it is ranked #446,243, which is probably the worst rating on there at the moment since I just added it about 30-minutes ago. On the site there is advertising, similar to this site, but I have set it up so that any ad revenue from it goes to charity instead of myself.

It was quite easy to set-up and I had this one set-up in about 20-minutes. You can easily add modules to the page and it allows you to aggregate any RSS feed onto the page. I put a few simple modules up there like a list, links, and a technorati search for YWAM. It also offers Google Maps, but it didn't seem to want to work for Townsville.
