Coffee IS a Financial Obligation
You probably need to be a regular reader of this blog to understand this statement, or you can read my previous post entitled Faith in Finances: Obligations vs. Needs vs. Wants where I explain how my wife and I do our budget. Now that we have a newborn in the house again I have decided that coffee is a financial obligation, and not just a need or a want. Right now I think that I am averaging between 4 - 6 hours of sleep per night and at times I have really struggled to stay awake at work and when I am feeding Jessica during the night.
I have a friend that reckons coffee is "Christian Cocaine" because it is acceptable to use, but it is still addictive and gives an artificial boost to the body. I don't think that I would completely agree with that, but at the moment I don't reckon that I would be surviving without my daily cup (or four) of coffee.
At the moment we are down to one day of rations left, so we will heading out tomorrow for probably a rather large bag of coffee beans...
