Poor Blog Planning

Posted on Wednesday, May 17, 2006 in Other
The recent arrival of Jessica into our family has brought most of my blogging to a definate slow down, if not a virtual standstill. In addition this site my other sites and new start-up sites have also slowed down a lot or stopped, much to my frustration.

Darren Rowse over at ProBlogger had a good post about On The Go Planning - Maintaining a Blogging Momentum where he talks about planning a head for events like the arrival of a new baby (Darren is expecting their first baby soon). He has some good advise such as:
  • Arranging for a guest blogger
  • Doing advanced posts
  • Announcing the posting pause ahead of time
He also has some good reengagement strategies which I am going to try to use as I try to re-organize my life now that we have two kids:
  • Take it slow
  • Give extra time
  • Set a deadline
  • Gradual posting
For those of you that haven't checked out ProBlogger before it's a great resource for blogging, whether you want to earn money from it or not.
This is an ad revenue sharing blog.

Don't be so hard on yourself! You've got a good excuse, not that you really need one to have a little downtime...it happens!
