Another Option for Internet Evangelism
I have written before out Internet Evangelism, Internet Evangelism - Skype Calls, and there are a lot of different opportunities out there for it. There was a new web site on that just opened up recently called Fo.rtuito.us. When you sign up for an account on fo.rtuito.us you get randomly introduced to someone else on the network. You then get a few days to get to know the person and then you both have the option to stay friends, or not to stay friends. You can read more about the site at TechCrunch: Meet New (Random) Friends at Fo.rtuito.us.
A social network like this could be an ideal ground for Internet Evangelism. The network manages the introduction of people already and all you have to do is meet and talk to people. You will of course come up against the debate of confrontational or friendship evangelism when undertaking something like this, but it is the same as meeting someone on the street or in a cafe and talking with them.
This is just one more place where the Church can embrace it and use the Internet to expand God's Kingdom, or we can put our head between our legs and complain about the things that are there that do not honour God.
The choice is ours...

- Interesting
Ryan S (RTO DTS'03) on Tuesday, May 30, 2006Ironically, I found your journal by checking the story on TechCrunch after being linked by Digg.com. Talk about fortuitous. You were linked in the links of other sites linking to TechCrunch. Funny how small the Internet is, isn't it?
Blessings,

Anonymous on Tuesday, May 30, 2006I'm not really a very religious person, but I wholeheartly agree with embracing technology in any kind of possitive way. If a few church leaders or church youth started using this service I think there is a good chance of reaching people who are willing to listen. Couldn't possibly hurt the cause. Good call.
