YWAM 4K News Media Course
YWAM Woodcrest has just launched a new course called the 4k News Media Course. Here at YWAM - Reef to Outback we don't just run training for training sake, we run training always with the goal of world missions. YWAM Woodcrest seems to be following that same model with this school. Here is a blurb from the course director:The 4K News Media course will enable YWAM missionaries to use print, Internet, radio and television in areas of the world that are unreached. The media's influence can cast light on issues like: health, environment, and justice issues affecting 4K zones. As honest news is reported, individuals, churches, communities, NGO's and others can realize what is going on and act to see the world transformed. It looks like a three month course with a three month field assignment afterwards. The course starts in January 2007 in Lindale TX.
This course seems to follow a trend that I have noticed lately in YWAM where missions is put at the forefront of our training courses. We run our YWAM School of Digital Communications with a focus on using the skills developed in missions, we are also developing a YWAM Information Technology course with a missions focus and I have seen at least one other communications course being developed with a missions focus.
It excites me to see training courses developed with the goal of using it in missions.
