YWAM Schools in Australia

Posted on Tuesday, December 12, 2006 in YWAM
Some more information from the YWAM Australia National Leaders meeting that was held down in Melbourne...

The training arm of Youth With A Mission in Australia is the Institute for the Nations. The IforN is a registered body here in Australia that runs training programs similar to a TAFE, or technical college. Our Discipleship Training School (DTS) is one of the schools that we run here that has been accredited. In addition to the accredited schools like the DTS we also run quite a few non-accredited schools.

In 2007 YWAM Australia is looking at running 36 YWAM Discipleship Training Schools, 38 Second Level Schools (post DTS) and there will be about 700 DTS students next year, plus all the Second Level School students. As we grow as a ministry the number of schools that we offer also continues to grow. In 2007 Reef to Outback is looking at adding two brand new schools including a School of Design and an Introduction to Primary Healthcare. Then in 2008 and are looking at even more schools to add.

All of the training that YWAM Australia runs is always missions and field focused, so it's an exciting time for Christian post secondary education in Australia.
