Beds and BBQs
After finally completing Caleb's toy chest a few weeks ago I thought that I would have a go at building Caleb a bed! So this weekend I had a friend Jared help me get started on Sunday afternoon at getting Caleb's bed ready.Well, as it turned out we spent almost the entire afternoon sanding back the timber that we bought from Bunnings. Since the size of timber that we had to get was usually used for structural work it was all painted down one side with a line of purple, green or black paint! The guys at the store couldn't explain why it was so, only that it was what we were stuck with. He said that all we had to do was "a quick sand to get rid of the paint". Well, it took us about 15-minutes per board, and we ended up blowing two sanding belts in the process. Not quite what we had planned...
Afterwards though we had a good BBQ back at our place. Last weekend was a roast, this time it was BBQ rump steak. Good stuff. I guess that we will have to have another go at the bed next weekend. Maybe we can do a BBQ chicken this time around.
I spent this morning working on a script with some other people here at RTO for the May edition of Reef to Outback Internet news. Then this afternoon I spent most of the time trying to fix our e-mail server. Right now I'm still not sure if it will work, but it's the best that I can do today with what I know... I'm hoping to find my inbox full when I come in tomorrow afternoon after worship.

Mom on Thursday, June 2, 2005Hi Bill:
It was great talking to you on the weekend. Sorry the bed is hard to do. It sounds like me trying to put Dad's video on the internet for you to download. I am afraid that I will have to give up and mail it to you on a CD.
Hang in there,
love Mom

Faye on Monday, May 30, 2005Hi Bill.............Faye here again.
Sorry to hear that the sanding on the bed was harder than expected. The "professionals" always make it look easy, don't they?
I am pushing on with the quilt. Wanna have a race to see which is finished first..........the quilt or the bed? Nah, only joking !!!!
I enjoy reading your journal. Sorry to hear that you were having trouble with the server again.
