Mac Tiger Seminar???

For those of you who don't know, I am not much of a fan of Macs.  They usually cause me significant pain when it comes to networking them with our Windows based network.  The main problem that I have been having lately is getting the VPN to work.  If I could finally get that working then I could move all of our staff to the perimeter network that I set-up at the beginning of the year.  But even though I have been able to get Linux and Windows computers to connect to the VPN, the Macs don't.  I had really hoped that the new OSX would fix this, but after spending a few hours working on the VPN in it, it didn't fix anything.

So next week I will be subjecting myself to a Mac conference.  I was tempted to bring my PC laptop to take notes, but I would probably be attacked as I am sure there will be Mac zealots there who would like nothing more then to mock me and my supposedly "inferior" system, even though this system just happens to work great and do everything that I want it to, including flawless VPN.

My biggest fear is that the conference will be a Mac love fest, and instead of actually provide me with useful information that will assist me in making Macs and PCs work well together, will try to convert me to a Mac only solution.

Macs and PCs both have their purposes.  I would not classify myself as a Mac hater, but I just think that it has it's place, and for our organization that place is with the media guys.  The rest of us are working well with Windows.
