Training weeks 1, 2 and 3 complete!
I did a few hours of work on the IT course that I just started on Saturday night. I managed to complete the assignments for week 1, 2 and 3 already, and I think tonight I will try to finish week 4! The only problem right now is that I have still not been assigned a facilitator, so I have no one to send the assignments to yet. I think that they may be a bit worried when I finally get one and I send through a dozen assignments and ask for all the assessments all at once.Granted, this first four weeks of work has been on Microsoft Word, so it hasn't been too taxing yet. The next sections are software that I have not used as much, Excel (still not too worried about) and Access (I have not done anything much with this). So we will see. I don't think that I will be able to keep up quite this pace for all of my study, but I am going to aim for completing each cluster in about a month (20-weeks are what the school allows me to complete each cluster). So if I can keep up doing each cluster in 4-weeks, then I should be finished my Certificate III in about 4-months.
They have advised me to wait until next year before starting my Certificate IV course in Information Technology. They are saying this because they are changing training packages come the first or the second half of next year. We'll see what happens. If it looks like they might switch in January then I might wait, otherwise I might just go ahead with the existing package.
I spent a lot of today trying to find a good e-mail package to manage our newsletter subscriptions at RTO. I found a few that include a person version for testing, so we will see what comes from it... I'll probably be trying out the personal ones just to see how well they work.
Well, as usual I have run out of time. I quite often plan to leave around 5:00, but by the time I finish writing this and finishing what I'm working on it's already 5:45. So, I'll talk to later. Time to go home and cook up some chicken...
