Discipline & Contact Management

Posted on Thursday, June 23, 2005 in Information Technology

Well, I had one good morning of getting up and spending time with God, although it was only 15-minutes.  That was better than it has been for quite a while though, so it's a start.  Like the title of this entry says though, I need to become a lot more disciplined with all parts of my life.

I spent a good part of today looking around for an open source CRM application that will tie in with our Goldmine SQL database.  I'm finding it to be a real challenge to work out how we are going to move ahead with our Contact Management.  For one, I am not all that knowledgable about databases and developing other applications to connect to existing databases.  The other problem is that since we a non-profit, volunteer organization we don't have a lot of money to put towards finding a workable solution.  This is proving quite challenging since the Corporate Edition of Goldmine is $800.00 per licence, and with over 50-staff members it is a bit out of our price range to set each person up with it.

Anyways, as often happens I was planning to leave at 5:00, and it's already 5:30, so I am going to go.  I am heading out to dinner with Tamara's dad tonight, so that should be a good time.  It's his shout* this time, as I shouted* last time...

*for those who don't know, to shout someone in Australia does not mean that you scream at them, it means that you pay for them
