Windows XP SP2 and Caleb...
Since I forgot to write about it last time, the upgrade on my laptop to Windows XP SP2 went well. I let it run over night, and when I first came into the office in the morning the computer was locked up, which had me worried, but after I restarted it I have not had any problems with it, which is great. I have not tried Goldmine yet, but I'm not in a great hurry to do that...
My training went well again this week. I am now working on learning databases and have done the simple database stuff and am now having to look at programming. This looks pretty intense, so I suspect that my progress will slow down a bit now.
I'm still aiming at having all the activities for this first training cluster done in four-weeks, which is only two-weeks more to go. I have also not yet heard about how to go about doing my assessments, so I'm not sure how long that will take in addition to the normal activities.
After I complete the software cluster it could take me a bit longer per cluster because some of the hardware classes I need to actually go to the training institute and do it there. It would be great if I could just video-tape myself doing the activities and assessments, but I don't think they're set-up for that.
My dinner last night was fun with Tamara's dad. $6.60 for a steak with chips and salad just can't be beat for a good meal. This weekend will be busy with dinner with the other couples on Saturday night, and then on Sunday we are going to have a bucks (bachelour) party for Matt Thomas, a good friend here at Reef to Outback. He's getting married in Canada in a month, so we are going to have some fun with him on Sunday...
Well, time to take Caleb and Tamara home for dinner. Not sure what we're going to eat yet since we haven't thawed out any meat, but we'll see...
