The YWAM CMS - Exciting Developments

Posted on Wednesday, June 29, 2005 in Web Development

Well, today we decided to give away the Content Management System that we have been working on to the rest of YWAM.  That's pretty cool, since we have already put a lot of money and time into it, so to give it away is a pretty good thing.  We will be releasing the service to YWAM bases, since that is what it is specifically designed for.

Because of the way that it is designed it will still be run from and hosted on our server, but any YWAM base that wants to use the CMS can use it.  By using it they will have their base news displayed on the www.ywambases.org webpage, they will also get a free basic base site on www.ywambases.org, and they will also be provided with an RSS feed from their articles. The www.ywambases.org site is not live yet, but it should be by the end of August.
This is an ad revenue sharing blog.

The bases will then have an option to pay someone else to build or develop themself, with some training, a national portal like www.ywam.org.au or a base web-site, like www.reeftooutback.com.

It's a pretty exciting developement and I am looking forward to seeing what comes out of it.
